  • Word of mouth networking has been proven to be the most effective way to promote and build your business.  People will refer people they know, to people they know… Chamber Referral Groups are the best way to get yourself known to fellow chamber members.  By meeting each other regularly, your fellow members come to know you as a person, know your skills, and most importantly, trust that you will do a good job for people they refer to you.  It can be the most economical element of your business marketing strategy.  For a one-time fee of $25, you get a team of “marketing reps” selling your goods and services to their friends and associates who have a need that you can fulfill. You don't even have to pay them salaries and benefits!

    The Chamber has established five Referral Network Groups to accommodate our members at different times during the day.  Participants are requested to bring business cards, marketing materials, “asks” and referrals. Only one individual per business category is allowed in each group.


    Referral Network Group 1
    This referral group meets every other Monday morning from 7:30-9:00 a.m. at the GBACOC. If you are interested in joining this group, please contact Michael Eaton at teamccmeaton@gmail.com

    Livingston Business Alliance
    This group meets every other Tuesday during the lunch hour from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the GBACOC. If you are interested in joining, contact Lisa Follmer at lisa@follmerinsurance.com

    Brighton B2B
    This group meets every Wednesday morning from 7:00-8:30 a.m. at the GBACOC. If you are interested in joining, contact Andrew Ceo at andrew.ceo@fbinsmi.com

    Midday Connect

    This group meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month during the lunch hour from 1:30 -3:00 p.m. at the GBACOC. If you are interested in joining, contact Kevin Thornton at kevin.t.thornton@gmail.com


    Senior Leaders Network of Livingston County - Morning

    This group meets every other Tuesday morning from 9am-10am here at the Chamber building. It is open to businesses that service the needs of senior citizens. If you are interested in joining please contact Debbie Johnson djohnson@realtor.com

    Senior Resources Group - Afternoon

    This group meets every other Wednesday late afternoon from 3:00-4:30 p.m. at the GBACOC. It is open to businesses that service the needs of senior citizens. If you are interested in joining, please contact Sharon McRill sharon@bettybrigade.com


    NEW! Business As Usual - The Atypical "Referral" Networking Group
    This group meets the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month at the Chamber from 11am-12pm. This Atypical "Referral" Networking Group is just that… not your typical referral group. We are working together, not to just  pass referrals to each other, but to teach each other how to get referrals through new marketing tools and social media. If you give an agent one referral they will eat for a day; if you give an agent the tools to generate multi referrals, he will buy a building in our community, employ our neighbors and bring growth to our city.
