SHOW DESCRIPTION:

The Merry Wives of Windsor or Sir John Falstaff and the Merry Wives of Windsor is a comedy by William Shakespeare first published in 1602, though believed to have been written in or before 1597. Meet the rotund rascal Sir John Falstaff and the wise wives of Windsor in one of Shakespeare’s most raucous comedies. With an ego as big as his voracious appetite, Falstaff conspires to woo the two wealthiest married ladies in town and pocket their riches. However, Mistress Ford and Mistress Page devise a scheme of their own to teach him a well-deserved lesson in Wooing 101. Join us and feast on a hilariously magnificent treat of monogamously artful deceit.

AUDITION INSTRUCTIONS:

Please go to this CTH website, www.cththeatre.org/merry-wives-of-windsor, for copies of scenes and monologues – these do not have to be memorized. Our production will be done in the 1970’s era which will have an influence on costumes and character design. Only accents needed where noted.
