Defend and Capture: Changes for Defense and Federal Subcontractors-How to defend your defense contract revenues and capture new business in 2017. Most defense contractors in the state of Michigan are unaware of impending regulations, which are now being written into subcontractor agreements. No new contracts will be awarded to businesses who are not in compliance with these new standards, and existing contractors may be subject to contract loss or litigation. The Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce wants Livingston County businesses to be fully aware of these changes. Prime defense contractors will be desperate to find compliant manufacturers and subcontractors; this creates a huge opportunity to capture contracts previously held by other companies. The GBACOC is hosting this event in order to facilitate an open discussion on this topic. This conversation will include the team at Brightline Technologies, a Brighton-based IT firm which has recently partnered with the Michigan Manufacturing Technology Center to assist manufacturers across the state in meeting these federal standards. Lunch will be provided. Register online at brightoncoc.org.
