Women's Business Network of Michigan - Blooming Today for A Healthy Tomorrow
BLOOMING TODAY FOR A HEALTHY TOMORROW!
We are excited to announce our continued partnership with St Joseph Mercy Livingston to bring you an exciting and fresh healthy living luncheon. This annual luncheon (formerly Livingston Go Red, taking place in February) will focus on women's health overall and move to March. A panel of local inspiration will be on hand to talk about their journey. We encourage you to bloom into spring - floral outfits and accessories are encouraged!
St. Joe's Livingston patients will share their stories and how they are blooming into the best version of themselves for a healthy future. Guests will hear from local celebrity, Jon King, of WHMI's Morning Show, along with two other local residents who have gone through life-changing health situations.
Learn from these individuals on how to prepare for health changes, stay healthy and live the best version of your life amidst busy schedules and competing priorities.
Jon King – Weight Loss & Bariatric Surgery Patient
Jon King is a Howell resident and the News Director and co-host of WHMI's "Mike & Jon in the Morning." After several attempts at weight loss, Jon had lost all hope. Despite being skeptical at first, Jon had bariatric surgery with Michigan Bariatric Institute at St. Joe's Livingston in July, 2019. Post-surgery, Jon couldn't be happier with his life-changing decision. He's down 80 pounds and looks forward to sharing his journey and advice for individuals struggling with weight management.
Lisa Steffey – Breast & Kidney Cancer Survivor
Brighton resident, Lisa Steffey is a mom of two young girls and a Project Manager for a non-profit organization. Shortly after the birth of her second daughter in the summer of 2015, Lisa was diagnosed with both breast and kidney cancer. She quickly began treatment, including chemotherapy, surgery and radiation, which all lasted for a little over a year. Now, in remission, Lisa refocuses her energy on positive and fulfilling activities. She looks forward to sharing her experience, advice and new perspective.
Jeffrey Gross – Intensive Cardiac Rehab Patient
Jeffrey resides in Brighton with his wife and two children. When he's not traveling for his day job, he enjoys working on video productions at his church. In late 2018, he was running at the gym, when he noticed he just wasn't feeling right. He had severe blockages in his arteries and had to undergo open heart surgery. Post-surgery, Jeffrey joined the Intensive Cardiac Rehab and they've helped him get back to running a 5K. He looks forward to sharing his experience and advice to get back on your feet after a cardiac event.
