Manufacturing Day addresses common misperceptions about manufacturing by giving manufacturers an opportunity to open their doors and show what manufacturing is...and what it isn't. This national day brings young people and local instructors into facilities in order to explore career options and learn more about local manufacturers. Companies may commit to various ways to get involved in the event including hosting a field trip/open house where students explore their facilities, sponsoring lunch, transportation or "swag" or setting up exhibits during the day. By working together during/after Manufacturing Day, manufacturers address the skilled labor shortages they face, connect with future generations, take charge of the public image of manufacturing and ensure the ongoing prosperity of the whole industry.
Manufacturing Day is designed to amplify the voice of individual manufacturers as well as to coordinate a collective of manufacturers with common concerns/challenges so they can help their communities and future generations thrive.
