The Livingston County Hunger Council and Gleaners Community Food Bank work together every day to help keep food on the tables for families in need throughout Livingston County. After an increase during the holidays, spring tends to come with lower emergency food availability. This is compounded by the fact that during these chilly months, many are forced to make the tough decision between heating their house and eating. You can help make sure that families in your community will not face this challenge by participating in our Inaugural Livingston Food Fight – Spring into Action, March 11th – 22nd, 2019.
Your group can sign up for a two-week, friendly competition against other organizations in Livingston County to raise the most meals (including both food and monetary donations). Winners will be invited to a celebration event and take home the annual traveling trophy. We’re hoping to collect enough food and funds to provide 40,000 meals for those struggling with food insecurity in our community. Thanks to a generous match by our sponsor the Harold and Kay Matching Gift Fund, businesses can double their impact for hungry neighbors.
The best part? All food collected will stay in Livingston County, supporting the pantry of your choice.
