What difference can one day make? When it's Livingston County United Way's Day of Caring, the impact on the community is tremendous! The annual event is scheduled for Wednesday, August 16.
"Every volunteer contributes their time to improve the community, and when we combine forces for one day, the effect is beyond words," stated event co-chairperson Piet Lindhout of Lindhout Associates Architects. "Once you participate, you just can't stop." Lindhout chairs the 2017 Day of Caring, along with Pastor Jeff Blagg of SonRise Church in Howell.
The committee has met and plans are underway for a tremendous "give-back to the community" day. Businesses and organizations are encouraged to use Day of Caring as a team building opportunity, while nonprofits are encouraged to sign up as a Worksite for either themselves or their clients.
