From 2013:

As one of the most prestigious juried art festivals in Southeast Michigan, this event draws highly talented artists who travel from across the state and nation to participate.  Each year, Brighton’s Fine Art and Acoustic Music Festival draws large crowds from Livingston County, Oakland County, Metro Detroit, Ann Arbor and Lansing.  The event will run August 1-3, 2014 in Downtown Brighton on Main Street. People partake in event activities while savoring local foods and listening to aesthetically soothing music.  The event is in perfect three-way harmony combining art, music and setting!  Multiple stages of acoustic music will be featured on Main Street, adding ambiance to the event.  Visitors are able to speak one-on-one with artisans about their original works in glass, watercolor, oils, sculpture, photography, pottery, jewelry, woodcarvings and more.

New to the festival this year is The Grape, an art gallery and wine tasting venue coordinated by the Brighton Art Guild and ArtVentures. Artwork by local artists will be on display throughout the weekend featuring artists who participated in the “Brighton Paint Out” on July 20. A collaboration between the City of Brighton’s Arts & Culture Advisory Commission, the Brighton Art Guild and the Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce, this program invited artists to gather along the Mill Pond and paint downtown Brighton. Local sommelier Paul Hannah of Just Grape Juice will be offering a wine tasting experience sure to please any discriminating palate. Festival goers will want to be sure to take a leisurely walking tour of seven reproductions on display from the Detroit Institute of Arts’ Inside Out program. This highly acclaimed project brings reproductions of masterpieces from the DIA’s collection to the streets and parks of metro Detroit.

“The City of Brighton has truly become a center for the arts in Livingston County - featuring sculptures, DIA reproductions and a wide assortment of galleries," said Pam McConeghy, President and CEO of the our Chamber. Once a year the Chamber compliments these established features with the Brighton Fine Art & Acoustic Music Festival, an event that attracts visitors from all across the state of Michigan. These visitors not only enjoy a hip art festival, but are also free to explore our dynamic and artsy downtown."
